It will ask you during the instalation

it can't as the code was obtained via the fs activation site, not during the atual instilation.

You go back into the ACtual installation and just click "next" I beleve and then paste in the code there, I'll have to redo this but this is how I did it originally.

Hmm, does anyone know why a ILM version of Jaws would become deactivated? It was working just fine...And now it is set back to 40 minute demo, or whatever it is...

Your copy of JAWS 6 may become deactivated if something got changed in your display settings, or if your display driver has a problem. I had a problem where, according to a sighty, my display would look all weird, and I'd have to reboot in order for the problem to go away. Sometimes, I'd have to reboot just because jaws would run as a demo. I fixed the problem now, but most probably that's what's going on. Maybe it's something to do with hardware, but don't know exactly.

To enter your code that was generated by FSActivate.com, go to your JAWS help menu, choose "update authorization", and then click activate. From the list of radio buttons, arrow down to the last one, which says something like "code generated by FSActivate.com", and then click next. That's where you enter it.

The problem is it's not 6.0 and nothing has been changed.

thanks buys got it working now. We had quite a few problems with the elm site itself which didn't help.

wc have you done anything like defrag your hard drive? I defragged my hard drive some time back and lost my authorisation of jaws as a result.

Just a tip for all you JAWS users: You can't use third-party defrag programs to defrag your drive, only the standard windows one.

If you change any hardware (I swapped out the main borad on my laptop and it got reactivated) or I guess reformat/reinstall windows/defrag (though I have defragged and it did not complain) it will ask you to reactivate. You can do this three times after which you will have to call FS and ask nicely for more and they will probably give them you three more. I don't really like it personally.

and the stupid thing about the ilm is that it still takes 7-10 days for any upgrade. nice to see fs still dragging there sorry asses in to the twenty-first century.
